CrossFire CrossTraining and Krav Maga has a seminar every month, each of which focus on specialized combat and safety scenarios. Each seminar is a stand-alone seminar so they may be taken in any order.
Women’s Self Defense – Introduction to Self Defense: Grabs, Chokes, Holds
Part 1 of CrossFire CrossTraining and Krav Maga’s Women’s Self Defense Seminars is an introduction to self-defense. It focuses on basic combatives and defenses, as well as spatial awareness, how to lessen your chances of being attacked, and legal considerations. You’ll learn to defend against grabs and chokes, both freestanding and against a wall. If you’ve never taken a self-defense class before, this is a great place to start.
Women’s Self Defense – Ground Defenses
Part 2 of CFCKM’s Women’s Self-Defense Seminars focuses on what to do if you are taken to the ground during an attack. Whether the attacker has pulled you to the ground or you’ve simply fallen down, this seminar focuses on how to defend yourself, get back up and go home safely. While the most important part is always getting up from the ground, this seminar will also teach you how to fight from the ground, how to get an attacker off of you and how to keep the attacker off while you get up.
Defense Against Weapons
Even if you know how to defend against unarmed attacks, defending yourself against an attacker armed with a stick, knife or gun can be an entirely different situation. These seminars are intended to teach you how to evade, disarm, stop and escape an attacker who has a weapon. Each seminar will teach defenses against one of the following weapons: sticks, knives, or guns. It will teach you to use your body’s natural defensive instincts and situational awareness to defend yourself from common weapons.
What to Do During an Active Shooter Situation: Seminar
An Active Shooter is defined as at least one individual in a single location with the intent to kill. These locations are most commonly defined as work-spaces, schools and other locations where many individuals are in the same space. Due to the crowded nature of these areas, the unknown nature of the attacker and the intense fear, knowing how to handle these situations can be difficult. CrossFire CrossTraining and Krav Maga will give you safety measures concerning how to avoid an attacker, provide situational awareness, and practice identification of useful items and safe architecture in your environment. CFCKM’s seminars follow Homeland Security and FBI guidelines.
Women’s Self Defense Seminar: College Campus Safety Seminar
Moving to a new college can be a stressful time. College is a place where many people congregate in one place, which can make it a target for attackers. This seminar teaches young women to set boundaries, and that No means No. The seminar will teach you safe practices, awareness, boundary setting, as well as basic combatives, self-defense, and legal considerations before you go to your new college.
Whenever a new seminar is scheduled, it will be announced by a new post in the What’s New section and on the individual pages for the seminars. We hope to see you there!
